Decarbonation : The Carbomix® Process

Decarbonation on resin makes it possible to reduce the total alkalinity (TAC) of raw water. BABCOCK WANSON has developed a patented process in order to rationalize and limit the size of the installations: The Carbomix® is a compact installation in which the phases of decarbonation and softening are carried out in a single exchanger.

The Carbomix® exchanger contains two types of resin which, take into account their difference in density, through a series of beds. When saturated, the Carbomix® exchangers are regenerated by successive passages of a hydrochloric acid and brine solution (sodium chloride). The regeneration of the exchangers is automatic.
