Job Description 

Babcock Wanson Portugal is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with a strong project management component, responsible not only for business development and client acquisition, but also for coordinating and executing the projects sold, ensuring full follow-up with clients and subcontractors.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop commercial activities, including prospecting, identifying opportunities, and acquiring new clients;
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact to closing the deal;
  • Take responsibility for the implementation and follow-up of awarded projects nationwide;
  • Execute the commercial and sales strategy for equipment and turnkey solutions in steam, thermal fluid, hot water, and hot air systems for industrial processes;
  • Participate in technical sizing and project budgeting;
  • Coordinate technical teams and subcontractors on-site with a hands-on approach;
  • Act as the main liaison between the company and the client, ensuring effective communication;
  • Oversee all project phases, from design through execution to final delivery;
  • Ensure compliance with deadlines, costs, quality standards, and safety requirements;
  • Guarantee high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

Desired Profile 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;
  • Eligibility for registration with the Portuguese Order of Engineers (mandatory);
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical-sales roles and/or industrial project management;
  • Knowledge of fluid network design (DHW, steam, and thermal fluid systems);
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (isometric, mechanical, and electrical schematics);
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and Microsoft Office;
  • Strong commercial mindset and results-oriented approach;
  • High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail;
  • Leadership skills, proactivity, and autonomy;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good command of English (spoken and written); French is a plus;
  • Valid driving license and availability for frequent travel within Portugal (including islands) and occasional international travel;
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
