The candidate will need to have a good level of engineering skills and coded welding experience to 6G preferable. Welding is predominately carbon steel MMA using low hydrogen electrodes. We are looking for someone with previous experience working within the boiler industry.
Daily duties of the role will be:
- Retubing of boilers
- Cutting out and completing D-patch repairs
- Tube plate replacement
- Coded welding of pipework / vessels
Candidate will be asked to complete a weld test: Overhead plate 14mm thick, 7016 low hydrogen route and 7018 low hydrogen fill and cap. Full penetration weld and all to be stick welded only.
In addition to daily responsibilities, key tasks will include;
- Ensuring all activities are performed safely and accurately in accordance with all relevant legislation, policies and company guidelines.
- Complete all paperwork and system-based records accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist in the development of other team members by sharing knowledge and expertise
- Communicate with customers and inspectors as and when required
We are looking for someone that has excellent communications skills and can use their own initiative to work without constant supervision. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial and industrial background.
Salary is around £18.50 per hour based on experience. Weekend and overtime work is always a possibility.
All health and safety training is provided as well as transport.
This is a permanent contract subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period.
Core hours are 7.30-16.00 Monday to Friday, but flexibility to suit customer needs is expected.
