Demineralisation by Reverse Osmosis
Standard: Permeate flow from 600 to 10,000 litres per hour
Specific: Tailored to your demand
BWO Demineralisation by Reverse Osmosis is a water purification technology using semi-selective membranes and an external pressure to reverse the natural flow of pure solvent.
BWO has been designed to effectively remove many types of dissolved and suspended species from water such as ions, molecules, bacteria or larger particles. It uses low energy membranes and includes fully automated equipment and a configurable PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for safety and alarm management.
Babcock Wanson has developed a whole range of reverse osmosis equipment which makes it possible to meet and optimise the needs of industry. The standard series provides a permeate flow from 600 to 10,000 litres per hour. Our specific range is tailored to your demand.
BWO application in industries
- Process water purification – BWO can be applied to purify process water such as required for surface treatment or in cosmetics laboratories, etc.
- Boiler feed purification – BWO can also be applied for boiler feed treatment. The purified water produced by BWO allows to reduce the volume of blowdown purge from the boiler to circa 1% thereby ensuring good operation of the steam generating plant and minimising energy loss from the process.
Flexible and complete range
- BWO Demineralisation by Reverse Osmosis is available as both vertical and horizontal skid assemblies depending on the permeate flow. This feature ensures simple and quick site installation.
- Standard range from 600 l/h to 10,000 l/h plus specific permeate flow duties on demand.
- Permeate conductivity of less than 1 μS/cm can be achieved.
- The specific range is tailored to your demand and is adapted for minimum floor space requirements.
Safe and reliable equipment
- Automatic bypass option of the osmosis unit ensures safest operation for your process and steam production.
- BWO make it possible to assure tailored water quality and to meet your specific needs.
- The overall energy ratio is significantly improved
- Return of investment is very high.
Simple maintenance
- BWO includes membranes protection mechanism without additional installation cost.
- BWO mixing valves help economise on water treatment products.
Environmentally Friendly
- BWO Demineralisation by Reverse Osmosis ensures efficient use of resources, simple maintenance and compliance with environmental standards.
- BWO has a low environmental impact due to absence of chemical reagents.
